Gobabis
The first thing that makes this place very special is that a friend I met through a public health program in Boston, Leonard, lives in this town! He's a hugely inspiring and amazing person, so seeing him for a few days was very special. We also went to Harnas Game Reserve, which is an amazing place where they keep animals who were mostly rescued from closing zoos or otherwise weren't fit for the wild. Because the animals are kept in large enclosed areas, they're easy to spot and get great pictures of. They also do feeding tours in the morning, which we attended, where they throw the animals meat, and we're able to watch. We saw so many lions, cheetahs, monkeys, leopards, etc at close distance. They host an internship where you can go stay there with lodging and food paid for so you can learn about and care for the animals... Not sure it'll happen but I'd love to attend.
